The Furry Child

I realized that my "mom" blog has been all about Mason....I haven't mentioned my furry child Louie!!!!! Mr. Louis Blue Widman is a 5 year old Cockerbichon, which is a mix between, you guessed it, Cocker Spaniel and a Bickon Frise.  He is the cutest dog EVER! He is mostly well behaved, he's only issues are when people come over... and he's just so excited to see them! After a few minutes he's back to his Louie self. This 30 pound lap dog has had some adjusting to do post Mason. Does he get the same amount of attention?...no. His walks are now shared with a stroller or a trike, his playtime is less about playing fetch and more about trying to get his toys back from Mason. There are some perks to being the older brother though....half of Mason's plate ends up on the floor, meaning half of Mason's plate goes to Louie!   Louie may not be getting the same amount of attention from mom and dad, but he's creating a relationship with Mason, and give Mas a little more time, and Lou will prefer him over us anyway.  They already share toys, they get the same enjoyment out of a thrown ball (yes, I play fetch with both my sons) and Mason loves feeding Louie and has no problem eating on something with Louie. Just last night Mason was eating a banana as his bedtime snack, I wasn't pay close enough attention because Mason would take a bit and then let Lou lick it, then he'd take another bite! I did stop it, but was also thinking "how cute"
At first Louie was wonderful with Mason, then as Mas became a little mobile, Louie rebelled a bit, but now things are settling down in our household and our two boys are becoming good friends.......

It doesn't mean Lou's not happy when Mason goes to bed......being a big brother to a one year old is tiring! This was last night, he was just snoring away on the couch five minutes after we laid Mason down. You can tell he's been really neglected, he gets the couch AND a pillow...but no blanket, don't turn us in for animal abuse!
